Tim’s career started with the glamorous job of coiling cables. From there he progressed to making tea strong enough to stand a spoon in, before finding his way into the edit suites of the BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
Today, Tim leads Cassini Films’ corporate video production, documentary filmmaking, commercial content, and campaign work for clients across Newcastle, the North East, and the UK.
Years spent shaping documentaries, factual programmes and scripted content taught him how stories are really built: one decision, one frame and occasionally one impossible deadline at a time.
Eventually, he swapped the edit chair for the director’s chair and founded Cassini Films. Since then, he has produced award-winning work for broadcasters, brands, public sector organisations and cultural institutions, earning a Royal Television Society Award along the way.
Today, he combines broadcast storytelling with commercial thinking to create films that connect with audiences, whether that’s a documentary, a brand campaign, a corporate film or something that doesn’t fit neatly into any box.
Not bad for someone who started out wrapping cables.

But he’s no stranger to drama either. His credits stretch from indie thrillers like Runaway and Interview with a Hitman to true-crime docs like Manhunt: The Raoul Moat Story. Whether it’s commercials, campaigns, or scripted grit, Kyle’s work always balances artistry with clarity — beautiful frames that never forget they’re there to tell a story.
