Blending Fashion, Film and Futurism

This year’s Fashion Week at PROTO was a creative experiment unlike any other. Cassini Films was invited to capture the event inside PROTO’s state-of-the-art virtual production studio in Gateshead, where the traditional runway was reimagined through technology.

Our brief was to shoot clean, dynamic footage that could be transformed into a DeepFrame holographic display, allowing audiences to see fashion models appearing as three-dimensional projections. Using a full-frame camera setup within PROTO’s LED volume, every lens choice, light level, and movement was carefully planned to retain realistic depth and clarity through the holographic glass.

Cassini Films is committed to exploring new techniques in brand and narrative story telling using virtual production in Newcastle and beyond.

The process demanded a balance between artistry and precision. Lighting had to flatter both the fabric and the holographic environment, while motion had to remain elegant without breaking the illusion. Working closely with PROTO’s technical team, we refined our workflow to ensure the finished material translated seamlessly from studio floor to holographic display.

What emerged was more than a fashion film—it was an exploration of how virtual production and holographic technology can reshape audience experience. By merging film, fashion, and innovation, Cassini Films helped create a visual narrative that feels immersive and forward-looking.

As the boundaries between physical and digital storytelling continue to blur, we’re proud to help redefine how creative industries present their work. From virtual sets to volumetric displays, our goal remains the same: to make technology feel human and emotionally resonant.

Cassini Films continues to pioneer new approaches to virtual productionand storytelling innovation in Newcastle and beyond.
